Aligners Instead of Brackets and Wires

Invisalign is a process whereby we fabricate a series of removable, clear plastic trays that will align the teeth.  The idea is that as the weeks go by,  the teeth start to move to their final position, and you wear a different aligner that brings your teeth closer and closer to the final desired position.

How do I clean my teeth with Invisalign?

They are virtually invisible and can be removed to facilitate brushing and flossing.

Is Invisalign “better” than brackets and wires?

No. While both treatment options are designed to make your teeth straight, each modality has different strengths and weaknesses. For example, while slight crowding or small rotations in the front teeth can be done with traditional braces or Invisalign, Invisalign can be better in this instance because we can treat the problem and maintain very high esthetics. Plus, with Invisalign we don’t have to band and bracket the teeth. However, if a patient has severe crowding, rotations, or significant spacing issues, then traditional braces will most likely be needed.
