Removable Partial Dentures (RPDs)

Another option to replace missing teeth is an RPD or removable partial denture. RPDs are indicated when you are missing teeth on both sides of your mouth, and the remaining teeth are relatively healthy. Ultimately, we want to do everything to keep you with your own teeth for as long as possible.

There are different types of removable dentures

We offer traditional as well as flexible-type partials and will help you choose what will work best for you.  Traditional RPDs are very strong and designed for the everyday wear and tear of biting and chewing. They are made of a safe, strong metallic frame and hold up very well to everyday life.  Flexible partials are more esthetic, but are not always as strong as traditional metal RPDs. The disadvantage of flexible partials is that they are more difficult to adjust, and cannot be easily tightened compared to metal partials.

Combination Partials
When esthetics are critical (such as with front teeth), we can sometimes fabricate a combination-type partial where we use a metal substructure with metal claps hidden in the back, but with flexible clasps in the front, esthetic regions.
